According to the US Treasury announcement, the bulk carrier's "Alara", the "ULA" wheel, and the "IPSALA" wheel are related to the previously sanctioned Russian shipping company Pola Raiz (also known as "POLA Rise").In the sanctions on February 24, the company and 22 grocery ship fleets were sanctioned by the United States for trade with Russia and Turkey and transported materials to the Arctic construction site.



The remaining 16 ships were related to the Joint Stock Company Transport Leasing Company, which was sanctioned in April 2022.
