 In recent months, the situation of container market is extreme. The high freight rate and shortage of containers are disturbing the market and will continue for some time. In addition to the short plug of refrigerators, the import and export of refrigerators will also be a new challenge.

Large companies and logistics companies that need sea refrigerated goods should be ready. Shipping companies have announced that they will stop receiving refrigerators.

It is reported that the shipping company Herbert announced that it would suspend all 40 'freezer bookings from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and the Czech Republic until the end of December 2020.

"Our goal is to support all confirmed export orders but may be cancelled on a case by case basis. We will try our best to provide the best service to all our customers, but we expect that the situation will remain very tense in the coming weeks. " Herbert wrote in a statement.

"This shows once again that the market is facing severe container equipment challenges, which is a prominent problem affecting supply chains in many places, not just in Asia." Said Lars Jensen, shipping analyst and CEO of sea intelligence consulting.

In addition to Europe, Herbert announced on December 3 that port congestion has resulted from stricter customs inspection and disinfection of imported food entering Whampoa. From now on, the reception of refrigerated cabinet bookings entering Huangpu port, China will be suspended until further notice.

In view of the above situation, we would like to ask the customer to provide a written confirmation letter as soon as possible. You can choose from the following:

(1) Accept delivery at the current port of discharge if circumstances permit;
(2) Transfer your refrigerated containers to another port / destination;
(3) Transport your reefer containers back to the port of origin;
(4) In the absence of any instructions from the client, Herbert reserves the right to make all necessary arrangements.

Please note that for any of the above options, all additional costs, risks and responsibilities associated with the storage or transportation of the goods after unloading will be borne by the owner of the goods.

At the same time, Herbert also announced that orders for import of refrigerated containers from Pusan, South Korea to Tianjin, China will be suspended, with immediate effect.

In addition, recently, China has increased the inspection of imported refrigerated goods, which makes the inspection of refrigerated goods more strict and time-consuming, and the port faces problems such as slow container handling and port congestion.

In addition to one's latest announcement, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Fuqing also suspended the acceptance of imported refrigerated containers.

One said that due to stricter inspection and disinfection requirements for refrigerated containers imported into Xiamen / Fuzhou / Fuqing, the delivery of refrigerated containers has been slow and is facing congestion.

In view of this situation, one will stop receiving all orders for refrigerated goods to Fuzhou and Fuqing, China from the date of shipment on December 8, 2020 until further notice.
With effect from the loading date of December 9, 2020, one will stop receiving all bookings of refrigerated goods to or through Xiamen, China, until further notice.

For containers in transit, one strongly recommends that customers consider changing the destination to another port, especially for time sensitive goods such as fresh and refrigerated goods.

For refrigerated containers that have been transshipped to Xiamen or detained at the transshipment port for further transportation to Xiamen, please note that all relevant costs will be borne by the consignee and paid at the time of delivery.

For containers that have been transshipped to Fuzhou / Fuqing or detained at the transit port, a specific surcharge will be charged at the time of loading once the feeder space of Fuzhou / Fuqing is available.
